Why Your Chakra Health Matters

Your chakras and your nervous system are deeply interconnected. Each chakra is linked to a network of nerves, glands, and organs in your body. For example:
The throat chakra corresponds with the cervical spine and thyroid, influencing voice, breath, and expression.
The solar plexus chakra connects with the digestive system and liver, influencing digestion, skin health and confidence.
The root chakra is tied to the coccyx, sciatic nerve, and adrenal glands, influencing energy levels, lower body function, stress response and survival instincts.
When a chakra is out of balance, the nervous system often reflects this through physical symptoms (like tension, digestive issues, or headaches) or emotional patterns (like anxiety, overthinking, or shutdown).
By bringing awareness and support to these areas, you’re not only balancing energy, you’re also helping your nervous system return to regulation, which is the foundation for healing, resilience, and spiritual growth.
Simple Balancing Tips for Each Chakra

Root Chakra
Subtract: Reduce overstimulation, constant news, social media, caffeine etc.
Add: Grounding rituals: walk barefoot on earth, eat root vegetables, focus on slow exhales.
Sacral Chakra
Subtract: Numbing behaviours (over-drinking, over-scrolling, emotional suppression).
Add: Creative play: dance, painting, intimacy, or even cooking something new.
Solar Plexus
Subtract: Over-controlling habits or overcommitting/doing too much.
Add: Core strengthening movements, sunshine exposure, fire or candle gazing, gentle gut-supporting foods.
Heart Chakra
Subtract: Holding onto grudges or closing off.
Add: Daily gratitude practice, longer hugs with humans or pets, heart-opening stretches, cacao.
Throat ChakraÂ
Subtract: Self-censorship and swallowing words to keep the peace.
Add: Journaling, singing in the car or shower, or simply practicing saying “no.”
Third EyeÂ
Subtract: Constant screen time, overthinking and over working.
Add: Quiet time, meditation, trusting your inner knowing, stillness.
Crown ChakraÂ
Subtract: Over-identification with busyness and material achievement.
Add: Spiritual nourishment: prayer, meditation, time in nature, or simply moments of awe.
Think of these as gentle little invitations. You don’t need to do them all. Just choose one thing to subtract and one thing to add for the chakra that feels most out of balance for you. Small shifts make a big difference overtime.
