Before I pursued my souls purpose in helping women transform their life.
Before I finally found what it was like to actually live a life I LOVED...
There was an insecure “yes girl". Desperate to please, willing to get walked over, had unhealthy boundaries and was just existing in a life she felt, was out to get her.
While I always managed to keep a smile on my face most days, I was still facing a daily internal battle of crippling anxiety, depression, debilitating digestive issues, exhaustion and overwhelm.
Overcoming my physical and mental health challenges, was anything but easy. It was definitely a long term game.
Once I finally took the leap and left my job as a hairdresser, I started my mission in gaining all the knowledge I possibly could, to help myself rebuild my life and health.
But I was faced with obstacle after obstacle, as soon as I thought I was getting somewhere, something else would pop up. I felt like there was no light at the end of the tunnel.
I didn't understand, I was doing the things that everyone says to do, you know "eat healthy and exercise", but it was only getting me so far.
I soon realized these were only 2 pieces of the puzzle, and what I really needed was a holistic approach to health, life and happiness.
I studied naturopathy, nutrition, Ayurveda, personal training, yoga, mindfulness, energy medicine, literally anything I could that had anything to do with health and wellness.
All, so I could truly understand my body and what it really took to rebuild my health from the inside out, and become the best version on myself possible.
Nutrition - What we choose to fuel our bodies with, plays a huge factor in how our body and mind will perform. That's why real whole food, is a foundation of overall health.
Herbalism - Nature has it's own unique plant medicines, which can be used to help SUPPORT, BUILD and NOURISH your body.
Shamanic Yoga - Certified 200hr Shamaic Yoga Teacher (Vinyassa and restorative sequences) taught by Levi Banner in beautiful Bali.
Shamanism - Certified Shamanic Priestess by Venus Star Rising. I journeyed through the 5 elements (water, earth, fire, air and spirit), experienced transformational breathwork and worked with the sacred plant medicine of cacao.
In the kitchen - Making once off healthy meals and deserts, I say once off because following recipes isn't really my thing, I like to eye ball measure and guesstimate everything! So nothing ever ends up the same. It's usually always a throw together type thing, using whatever I have on hand. My fiancé Mark always jokes that he has to savour every creation, as he knows I won't make the exact same again.
Playing in nature - Walking outside in nature, with my bare feet in the grass, sand or dirt with the sun touching my skin, is one of my favourite places to be. I also love hanging out in my veggie garden, and checking out all the wild edible weeds that find there way in there.
Reconnecting to my body - I spend so much time up in my head, thinking, problem solving & learning new things. So for me getting back into my body through yoga or meditation, is an essential daily practice for me.
